Racehorse poo analysis predicts future success
Congratulations to Joy Leng and Chris Proudman of Surrey University, on the publication of their paper in Nature paper, as featured on BBC news: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1d75eqkdq5ohttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1d75eqkdq5o
EGSF are proud to have funded Joy’s original PhD looking at the gut microbiota of horses with grass sickness (https://www.grasssickness.org.uk/research/characterising-the-metabolic-and-microbiological-disturbances-induced-by-equine-grass-sickness/
We have a new project launching soon with Surrey University to examine biobank samples for EGS biomarkers. This study has been made possible by donations from owners with grass sickness cases, vets who have worked tirelessly to get the sample to us, and the British Horse Society for the generous funding of our EGS Biobank. Not to mention the army of supporters who have fundraised to enable to project to go ahead. it is a team effort for sure!
