Shamrock the super model wins Tarragon Trophy

Shamrock; family pony, model and friend of many is recognised by BHS Scotland

The Tarragon Trophy – presented annually by BHS to a generous and precious equine personality of the year was presented to Shamrock, proudly owned by the Wylie family from Perthshire.
Shamrock has been a life defining mount for the entire Wylie family, a 30 y.o. black cob he has been ridden successfully by every member of the family from 9 years old to 50 plus; finding success in showing, show jumping and one day events!
And outwith his family commitments he has worked for the RDA and been the face of the Equine Grass Sickness Surveillance scheme since 2007.

Presenting the prize Derek Knottenbelt BHS Scotland’s chairman said: “Behind every family pony is a family , friends and their off shoots – Shamrock is an example of why horses are so important to humans and at 30 he just keeps on giving – he thoroughly deserves this recognition.”
