Grass sickness has long been a research interest of Moredun, of which the Equine Grass Sickness Fund is a charitable arm. Research into grass sickness at Moredun dates back to the 1920s when clydesdale horses were a key element of farming ‘equipment’. Extensive losses of these magnificent horses had a significant impact on farming, and is said to be one of the main reasons why tractors were so quickly adopted onto Scottish farms in the post war years.
