New scholarship launched for equine grass sickness research
John Gilmour Summer Research Scholarship
This new scholarship is being introduced in 2018 to mark the 30th anniversary of the formal creation of the Moredun Foundation Equine Grass Sickness Fund (EGSF).
Applications are welcome from veterinary medicine students and science students studying in areas relevant to equine grass sickness. Projects must be undertaken under supervision. Animal species other than equids that suffer dysautonomia may also be considered. Successful applicants will be awarded up to £2000.
EGSF reserves the right not to make an award if applications of sufficient merit are not received. Multiple awards may be made if applications of exceptional interest are put forward.
Projects must be relevant to the aims of the Equine Grass Sickness Fund which are
a) To discover the cause and a means of a prevention of equine grass sickness and
b) To further improve the treatment of chronic cases.
Applications will be considered twice per year in March and December. The application deadlines are Friday 16th February 2018, ( for 2018 projects) Friday 16th November 2018 and Friday 15th February 2019 (for 2019 projects).
